Getting Around Laguna Beach Without a Car

Uncategorized

Do the responsible thing and don’t smoke and drive. But if you’re high and needing to get around, it’s easy to do so while in Laguna Beach. From carshares, taxis, shuttles, and buses, there are plenty of ways to get from point A to point B. So fear not, with these below options, you can get out and grab food, drinks, and a show–even while stoned.

Hop on The Laguna Beach Trolley

This summer trolley picks up and drops off at Laguna Beach’s favorite hotspots. Runs all summer long with a frequency of every 20 minutes or so, easily hop on and off this free and adorable trolley as a safe alternative to driving stoned/drunk.

Take a Walk Downtown

If you find yourself too intoxicated to drive, then park it downtown. Here you can leisurely stroll the boutique stores, grab a meal at a local restaurant, or peruse the art scene (local and plentiful in Laguna Beach).

Catch the Bus

Laguna Beach Bus Transit is easy to use thanks to its color-coded system. If you’re a tourist, get to know the red route best as it runs south of downtown, along Pacific Coast Hwy. It’s an economical way to get around Laguna Beach as rides are free during July and August and only 75¢ at other times.

Reserve a Rideshare Service

If getting directly from point A to point B with as minimal hassle as possible is your end goal, then turn your sights to a rideshare service like Lyft or Uber. With just a couple clicks on your phone, you can easily reserve a car to transport you around Laguna Beach and beyond. And for more economical options, choose the carpool services called either line and pool (Lyft and Uber, respectively) as a way to share costs with other riders.

Ride the Irvine → Laguna Beach Shuttle

If you’re coming to Laguna Beach from Irvine and vice versa, then you should get to know the Summer Breeze Bus Service. Free on weekends, all summer long, this Orange County Bus Route 689 travels along Laguna Canyon Road, Art Festivals, the Laguna Bus Station, and plenty more.

Explore Laguna Beach While Stoned

There is definitely more ways than expected to explore Laguna Beach without the confines of driving. It’s easy, accessible, cost efficient, and most of all, safe. Driving while intoxicated on alcohol and/or weed is not smart and more importantly, not legal. So do the right thing and ride a shuttle, catch a trolley, or take a stroll. You can still get around easily to eat at the best restaurants, attend the most entertaining festivals, and shop the local wares. Best of all, since you’re not driving, you can take the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful sites of ocean and beach from the comforts of your seat.
